Spectrum
Spectrum is a mixed choir made up of mostly students in grades 10-12 (some exceptions will be made). Students must audition to be placed into the choir, and/or have a strong recommendation from their middle school or previous choir teacher.
Spectrum performs as a show choir in the "large special category" division at the District 14 solo & ensemble event in January each year. This past year (2018), Spectrum received a Superior rating at both the district and state level Solo & Ensemble festivals. Spectrum performs as a mixed choir at district MPA, and received an Excellent rating. They perform at the winter and spring concerts, and are featured heavily in the annual Variety Show. Students are expected to take voice lessons and perform classical solos at the district Solo & Ensemble festival.
Spectrum is active in the community, particularly around the holiday season, and travels all over the community to sing Christmas Carols and other holiday music. Examples include senior centers, the Harbourside Tree Lighting Ceremony, memorial services, country and golf clubs, and fundraisers at Berry Fresh and other businesses.
If you are interested in having Spectrum perform for your event, please send an email to Mr. Moore (C.Moore@palmbeachschools.org) as soon as possible. Please be aware that we do ask for a donation to the chorus program, with some exceptions.
